Every big American technology buyer is at least sampling Intel’s most advanced process, if a new analyst note is right.

Piper Sandler wrote that Amazon, Apple, AMD, Google, Tesla, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Qualcomm are all evaluating the 14A node. The broker called the data points better than expected and turned constructive on the stock.

Intel has not named an anchor customer, though. The interest is being driven by scarcity elsewhere: TSMC’s leading-edge lines are effectively booked through 2028, leaving Samsung and Intel as the alternatives, and Washington wants production on American soil.

Manufacturing metrics are improving. The note puts 14A defect density at 0.5 as of June, with a target between 0.1 and 0.2 by early 2027. David Zinsner, Intel’s finance chief, has described the pace as the quickest since the 22nm generation of 2012.

Capital is in place too. Intel sold stock in August and then enlarged the offering, a signal analysts read as confidence that a buyer will materialize.

The schedule Intel has published calls for risk production to start in the opening quarter of 2027. Volume manufacturing would follow a year later.
