Micron is betting $250M that the next wave of AI startups will be defined by how they use memory.
Its corporate venture arm has created the Paradigm Fund to back young companies working across AI model architecture and data infrastructure, in-memory computing and next-generation networking, and enterprise AI applications such as chip design and manufacturing.
Micron’s reasoning: as AI evolves from chatbots toward systems that reason and act in the physical world, the appetite for high-performance memory and storage keeps growing. The fund pairs capital with partnerships to steer startups toward that roadmap.
Micron Ventures has run two earlier vehicles, launched in 2019 and 2022, and the newer one is still putting money to work. The latest fund arrives during a push that includes HBM4 shipments for Nvidia’s Vera Rubin and a $10B research lab in Boise.
